Danny Robinson was born into entertainment. His parents were a well-respected song and dance duo, Bud and Cece Robinson. He was raised backstage and dancing in the act with his folks. He began his career as a messenger for the Ashley Famous Agency in New York. He continued to work each summer in the mailroom starting his junior year in high school right through college. By then, the company had become International Famous Agency. After college, Danny entered the music department as an assistant. Late in 1975, Danny transferred to the West Coast office of International Creative Management where he worked from the mailroom up to an agent. Danny exited International creative Management in late 1977 and after working at two smaller agencies, joined Agency for the Performing Arts (APA) in late 1979.
APA has a long history in comedy, both in film, television and live performances. Danny has been instrumental in discovering and nurturing talent that fits APA’s versatile scheme. He has been a Senior Vice President since 1994, working in both the Personal Appearance and Talent side’s of the agency, heading up the Comedy Division.
